Laura Dimmit

Lincoln, Nebraska

Raised in Joplin, Missouri, poet Laura Dimmit earned a BA at Missouri State University and has completed graduate studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she won the 2013 Vreeland Graduate Award.
 
Dimmit’s poems illuminate the small, ephemeral moments in a life. Her poem “Joey, 4th grade, 1992” was featured in former US Poet Laureate Ted Kooser’s syndicated newspaper column, “American Life in Poetry.” Her poetry has also appeared in Logos: A Journal of Undergraduate Research, Moon City Review, and Elder Mountain. She contributes to Stories for Supper, a blog about the intersection between journalism, social justice, and food. She lives in Lincoln, Nebraska.
