Carrie Green

Carrie Green is the author of Studies of Familiar Birds (Able Muse Press, 2020). She earned her MFA at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and has received grants from the Kentucky Foundation for Women, the Kentucky Arts Council, and the Louisiana Division of the Arts. Her poems have appeared in Verse Daily, Beloit Poetry Journal, Poetry NorthwestRiver StyxCave WallDIAGRAM, and elsewhere.

Green’s poetry manuscripts have been named finalists in the Anthony Hecht Poetry Prize, the Crab Orchard First Book Prize, the Crab Orchard Series Open Competition, the White Pine Press Poetry Prize, the Anhinga Press Robert Dana Prize in Poetry, the Cider Press Review Poetry Prize, the Richard Snyder Publication Prize, and the Backwaters Prize.

Originally from DeLand, Florida, Green lives in Lexington, Kentucky, and works as a librarian in a public library.
